The rugby ties-that-bind-us are at their strongest when faced with a challenge and on the morning of our Family Day – on the 22nd August, details below – TRC members will be leading the inaugural Singapore edition of Doddie’5 Ride to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease.

Doddie Weir, the iconic Scottish second-row, was diagnosed with MND last year and has formed the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to raise money for this cruel disease which has no cure to date and kills half of the sufferers within three years.  MND also recently claimed the life of another rugby icon, Joost Van der Westhuizen, and Professor Stephen Hawking.  Funds raised will both aid research and support MND sufferers.

The rugby community around the world will be getting on their bikes during August to support this cause and the Singapore edition – founded by TRC – will begin and end at our fields, with groups to suit all abilities and plenty of refreshments to recuperate. Whether a regular MAMIL or a cycle-to-the-MRT rider, get your bike out and come and join us!

We have options for 60km or 90km rides and for those interested please email to provide us with your preferred distance and your average speed.  The routes are picked and the detail on timing will be shared soon, but as a start, we will leave TRC early around 7:30 am (depending on ride group).

Please register before 17th August.

Any donations will be gratefully received and can be done here –
