U13 Rugby Camp in Desaru 31 August to 2 September
The U13's will restart their season with a weekend rugby camp in Desaru, Malaysia
The plan is to leave Turf City at around 4:30pm on the 31st August meaning that we will arrive at the in Taman Mutiara Desaru at around 7:00pm.
After an early evening meal we will then talk the boys through the season’s game plan and playing strategy. The Saturday morning will be an intensive training session followed by some afternoon fun activities, followed by some more training in the late afternoon once the heat of the day has abated. In the evening we can access a video room so the boys can chill out and watch a video before bed.
The Sunday will consist of another early morning training session followed by a game against the local U14 side of the local SUKAN BANDAR PENAWAR school whose pitches we will be training on. We will then spend a bit of time chilling out in the resort before returning to Singapore in the early evening.
The cost of the trip is going to be around SGD180 per boy (+ spending money). To keep costs down we are planning to drive “convoy style” to the resort. On the assumption that we will be able to get 3 boys per car, then we are going to need at least 10 adults to drive but everyone is welcome. The cost per adult at this stage is in the region of SGD248 but we can bring this down to SGD 180 if we share rooms!
The hire of the school pitch for 2 days is effectively up to us and all the school have asked for is a “token of our appreciation” so I’m thinking in the region of $10 - $15 per boy if we can get 30 boys on the trip.
We have got both the hotel and the rugby pitch “on hold” for the next 2 weeks, so could please everyone let me know ASAP if their son can make it and if as a parent (and or family) you would like to join us. There is plenty to do for the whole family at the resort so if you have no other commitments it could be a lot of fun.
